George Street
This is the center of energy for the nightlife in the city of St. John’s. Take your pick of taverns and pubs or simply hop from place to place along the famous cobblestone street. Flavors and atmospheres vary from each establishment from quaint and dimly lit to pulsating and animated. A great meal is also a sure bet with something to satisfy any craving. Take advantage of warm temperatures and light breezes as you take in the sights and sounds of the city on any of the outdoor patios.

The Fluvarium
An educational experience is sure to be had upon visiting this facility. These “windows on a stream” provide an in-depth look into the lives of many freshwater creatures that live in Nagle’s Hill Brook. By constructing glass panels under the water, the public is able to view the cycle of life as it takes place in its natural habitat.

Cabot Tower
One of the most renowned attractions in Newfoundland sits on Signal Hill. Cabot Tower was built to commemorate the discovery of the Province and has been used over the years for many reasons. Marconi received the first trans-Atlantic wireless message in 1901 at a point near the tower. Now a historical park, visitors will be rewarded with fabulous views of the city and an appreciation for the history upon which St. John’s was founded.

Cape Spear National Historic Park
The most easterly point in North America, Cape Spear was used by U.S. troops to observe German submarine activity during World War II.

O’Brien’s Whale and Bird Tours
A family operated business, the O’Brien’s were raised on the ocean and they, along with their staff, will give you your money’s worth as you sail out to see the largest Puffin colony in North America. If you’re lucky and it is the right season, you may get to see Humpback Whales or gigantic icebergs as well.
