Perched on the banks of the Bow River, the bustling city of Calgary is located close to the soaring Rocky Mountain Range of Alberta. A city close to nature, it is ideally situated for walking, rollerblading or running on a riverside path. Within a forest of skyscrapers, the city has gone to great lengths to ensure that nature is implemented to create a harmonious balance. There are many parks and “green” areas that are located throughout the city and are easily accessible to residents and tourists alike.

Calgary is the largest city in Alberta with a population of just under one million and is filled with modern amenities such as fine dining and contemporary museums. Located in the south-western part of the province, the weather can vary greatly with lows falling below freezing in the winter and rising again in the summer as high as the nineties. Breezes originating in the mountains also result in climate changes throughout the year so it is good to be prepared for all temperatures when visiting.
