BANFF,
ALBERTA
Within the rugged façade
of the Rocky Mountains, lies one of Canada’s
most spectacular towns. Located at 1,384 meters above
sea level, Banff is also Canada’s highest settlement
and site of the country’s first national park.
This is a skier’s paradise boasting world-class
alpine ski resorts, incomparable Nordic facilities,
charming lodges, alpine castles and exquisite shops
and restaurants. Once a quiet town catering only to
summer vacationers, the transformation to the full
scale year round resort that it has become is nothing
short of magical.
A unique destination for business or pleasure, you
may find yourself taking a stroll beside one of the
local elk as snow falls gently around you. The most
memorable aspect of Banff is obviously the landscape,
with great peaks intertwined amongst deep canyons and
placid lakes that dot the land. Though lured by the
winter, many stay for the summer and return for the
fall to see the autumn color as it begins to weave
itself into the palette. Whatever the season, despite
the reason, people from all over the world travel here
to discover this small slice of heaven hidden in the
clouds.
